Debbie Esquivias is working towards her MPP degree at the University of Calgary, while working as a research assistant at the School of Public Policy. Her research interest is in energy and economic policy. She is concurrently a finance and investment specialist at Esquivias, Lim & Co., CPAs, where she provides financial consulting and transaction advisory services. Prior to this, she was a Manager at FTI Consulting, Inc. (formerly Ferrier Hodgson), where she performed corporate finance and corporate rehabilitation projects including the preparation of a financial budget model for an Ayala/MPIC consortium, the restructuring of a US$35 million loan exposure of a multi-strategy group based in Hong Kong, and the preparation, negotiation and monitoring of the rehabilitation plan of Lehman Brothers SPV investments in the Philippines. She also worked for Ferrier Hodgson in Hong Kong, where she gained exposure in working with various industries located in various parts of Asia. She started her career at Ernst & Young Transaction Advisory Services, where she obtained extensive experience in providing sell-side and buy-side advisory services in relation to the disposition of non-performing assets of major government and private financial institutions. Debbie graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of the Philippines, Diliman with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She is a Top 10 Board Passer in the Real Estate Brokers Service Exam in 2012. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and is the recipient of the 2018 Global Outstanding Young Leader Award for her exemplary leadership, impactful contributions, and commitment to ethics and standards. Debbie is also a competitive figure skater, marathoner, and a doting mom of three.
